- ELIGIBILITY - All entrants must be friends with the pool
manager. If you don't know who runs this pool, you can't enter.
- SIGNING UP - You can sign up by contacting the pool manager or
by signing up on line. When you sign up on line, your account will not be
activated until the pool manager receives your entry fees.
- ENTRY FEES - Total due is 120 clams (Must be paid before picks
are made, unless other arrangements are made with the pool manager). The
pool fees have been determined by the following criteria:
- All of the clams will be thrown into a pot at some time in the year
(poor clams).
- Each week 5 clams from each person will be thrown into the pot. The
person that has the most points that week will receive this weeks
clams.
- The remaining 30 clams from each person will cooked up
for the end of the year party. The end of the year party will be
held at some time during the NFL playoffs. At the party the clams
will be distributed as follows:
- 6 clams from each person will be thrown into a special pot. This
pot of clams will be given to the person with the highest year
points. If there is a tie for the number of points, the
tiebreaker is year games.
- 6 clams from each person will be thrown into another special pot.
This pot of clams will be given to the person with the highest
year games. If there is a tie for the number of games, the
tiebreaker is year points. The points and games winner CAN NOT
be the same person, so if you get the points pot you are not
eligible for the games pot.
- The remaining 18 clams from each person will be thrown into
a community pot. This pot of clams will be shared amongst
everybody at the end of the year party. You must be present to
partake of these clams. The pool administrator reserves the
right to eat a few extra clams to offset any costs incurred
throughout the year.
- HOW TO PLAY
- SELECT YOUR WINNERS. Select who you pick to win each game.
- ASSIGN YOUR POINTS. Rate your picks in the order that you think will
get you a pool win. From 1 to the number of games that week (14 or 16
depending on the number of teams with a bye week). Typically this
involes putting the highest number of points (14 or 16) on the team you
are most confident that will win, the second highest number of points
(13 or 15) on the team you next most confident that will win, and so on
until you place 1 point on the game you are least sure of the outcome
for. Even though this is what we consider your best strategy, other
strategies are acceptable. Play your points how you want. Each point
value between 1 and the number of games for the week must be used one
time.
- TIE BREAKERS. In the event of a tie in the number of points for the
week, the best score the next week between the players that were tied
will determine the winner. If tied for a second week, the tie will be
determined by the higher points the next week. This will continue for as
many weeks as needed to determine the winner. A tie on the final week of
the pool will be evenly split among the tied players.
- SUBMISSION OF PICKS. - Weekly picks are due by the
start of the first game that week.
The preferred method for submitting picks is by entering your picks
from the appropriate Pick Sheets Form on the football pool web site.
Players may also submit picks by phone, fax, e-mail or in person.
If a player does not submit a pick sheet for a given week he will be
given a weekly score equal to the lowest total points scorer for that
week. Week games will be set equal to the lowest games winner for that
week.
